For more than twenty years, my career has been in the offshore energy industry, working in operations, technical sales and leadership. It has been a rewarding journey that has taken me around the world and introduced me to incredible people.

Throughout that time, one thing became increasingly clear to me: the conversations that mattered most were rarely about the work itself. They were about people, the challenges they were facing, and the support they needed.

Those experiences sparked something I couldn't ignore. Over time, I realised I wanted to help people in a different way—by offering the time, space and understanding that can make such a difference when life feels uncertain. That realisation led me to begin training as a counsellor and to create True Cairn, where I'm documenting that journey openly from the very beginning.
